Johnny Spaceway and the Hooded Assassin Dystopian Child Prodigy SciFi eBook Casey Herzog
I chose this book because of the Johnny Space way character. He sounded like an old time science fiction hero. I was very glad that I did pick this book.Johnny is a very young hero. The time for him to grow up may have only been ten years but his adopted aunt did a good job raising him. His mysterious origins and his unusual intelligence help to make him an interesting character.
I thought that some of the basics of this story reminded me of Harry Potter but that is not a bad thing.
I would recommend this story to anyone and I am very interested in reading the further adventures of Johnny Spaceway.

Johnny Spaceway and the Hooded Assassin Dystopian Child Prodigy SciFi eBook Casey Herzog Reviews
Great! I know that doesn't say a lot but that is how I feel about this story and the characters. A nice long read, something too many authors seem to have given up on so this is well worth your money. A story of a 10 year old boy with robots should tell you enough to draw you in, it did me. I was sorry when it came to an end and I really did want to read more. You will too! I found no negatives with this book and I will be waiting for the next one to come out! I just loved it! It does have a few grammar mistakes but nothing a good editing wouldn't fix.
This is a great read. Most sci-fi books star with action. Beware this does not. It starts with a simple but highly intelligent boy and tells about his life. You may be inclined to put the book down but DON'T. By chapter three the action begins from there on it is a tale of action, danger, the importance of friendship and much more. The characters are believable people we can relate to not super heros. My sole disappointment was the ending which wasn't. By that I mean that the author, Casey Herzog, intended this as part of an extended story. I'm looking forward to the next step in this saga. Casey you've got me hooked. I look forward to more.
I have to admit some trepidation here in the length of the book. However, it was a fast read once you open it up -- because the story goes so fast. Johnny is an amazing ten year old! I quite enjoyed how Mr. Herzog took him from a normal(ish) kid to someone you actually root for! Amazing. But I said that already. Although technically a young adult book, this kept me (over 50 years old) very entertained. I hope to see more of Johnny in the future.
The author provided me with a copy of this book. Because I enjoyed it so much, I felt compelled to write this review to encourage readers of all ages to take a chance on it, even with the length and the youthful setting. Worth it!
I was really surprised how good this story was. From the blurb I was expecting a good story but once I started reading it I was hooked. I had to see what Johnny would end up facing and why the assassin was after him. Well written and a few scenes made me laugh out loud. Although written more as a young adult story, it was still very good and a great story to read to be entertained. I liked how Johnny comes from a farm world and loves reading about space adventures but ends up going on one of his own. Written so well I could picture everything and the characters engaging. Honest review - Worth reading for a good laugh, space adventures and a different take on a coming of age story for a genies.
Johnny Spaceaway is a great little read. Remarkably fresh whilst with a comforting sense of familiar tropes. Very enjoyable.
However in terms of the accompanying Lockhardt story our protagonist has a wearing and wearying not to mention constant stream of self doubts That hold up the story. Some nice ideas here and imaginative action.
Unlimited, but pretty sure this was one of my freebie day books. I liked the story overall, but would like to point out some things from the blurb/story line .... "A deadly assassin. A tragic loss. A boy on the run. Young Johnny Spaceway has lived a quiet life on a crop world, tucked away in a peaceful corner of the galaxy. Everything changes, though, when a hooded stranger destroys his life forever. "
Between that blurb and different parts of the story in various places, it came off as sounding like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker a bit too much, even more so with the cover picture. However, since I did enjoy the story just rather ignoring some of the similarities mostly because there is nothing really new under the sun, and I read a LOT and have since I was 3 years old {over a 50 years of age now}.
Wonderful work.
I love sci-fi- and this book and others like it are the reason why.
I thought this would be another story of a young boy, Johnny, who would save a world in a book. It is so much more. I I the galaxy that Casey has formed with this book. The way the characters are presented and the background that flows naturally make for a wonderful book. Johnny goes from a baby who arrives on a planet in a spaceship by himself, who is taken in by a woman who cares for him until the age of 10. Then the real story begins. His hardships and learning all go hand in hand. This is the first book of many I hope.
